Start English (영어회화 레벨1)

A: Could we push the meeting back an hour?
I forgot that I have another meeting with my manager at 2:30.
* push back: 뒤로 미루다
B: Sure. Is 3 pm OK with you then?
* Is ~ OK with you then? 그럼 ~는 괜찮나요?
* am/pm 은 시간 뒤로 감
* then: 그렇다면
A: I suppose so. It won`t take long.
* take long: 오래 걸리다
B: OK, I`ll email and tell the other people.



Easy English (영어회화 레벨2)
Should I take a day off? 하루 쉴까? 하루 휴가낼까?

(문장)
Steve에게 잘 보이려 하니까 그 분 때문이야: 
I`m trying to impress Steve so it`s because of him. (impress-> 잘보이려 하다)
그에게 잘 보이려고 열심히 일 할 필요는 없어: You don`t need to work hard to impress him.
정시 퇴근만 해: You should just go home on time.

(대화)
A: What do you mean by that?
* What do you mean by that? 무슨 의미야? -> 많이 쓰는 표현
B: I`m trying to impress Steve so it`s because of him. 
   But it`s my fault because he didn`t ask me to work harder.
* impress (+ person): (누구에게) 잘보이려 하는거
* prove ~ : 나의 ~를 증명하는 것, 보여주는 것 
A: I thought we talked about this already. 
   You don`t need to work hard to impress him.
* I told you. I thought we talked about this already.: 말했잖아. 했었잖아. -> 자주 쓰는 표현
B: Should I take a day off?
* Should I take a half day off? 반차 낼까?
A: No, You should just go home on time.

(패턴/팁)
* I thought we (과거동사) already. 이미 우리~이러기로 했잖아.
I thought we said no to that already. 그거 안하기로 했잖아.
I thought we finished that project already.
* ask: 물어보다/부탁하다, 요구하다
ask (누구) to 동사원형: 누구에게 ~하라고 요구하다.
ask if ~ : 누가 ~인지 아닌지 물어보다.
* That`s the opposite of what you should be doing.
-> 딱 반대로 하고 있네! (해야할 일, 할 일)
